It seems like all we do these days is throw things away, into the TRASH, that we really should save and absorb. In a sense, what we toss out, will or may eventually define who we are, or at least remind us how important our memories just may be. So TRASH is just a metaphor for what we may have lost and in the end what we also choose to remember, when reminded. The photograph is one way of saving/preserving the memory and preserving our connection to our journey. Perhaps, if we mix things and thoughts up a bit, it might be easier to reorganize them...with just a bit of thinking injected into our fingertips...into the TRASH.
